Emotional Intelligence

Three main domains:

1 Recognition and expression of emotions
  • In self:

      Recognizing your own emotions, being aware of how they are expressed

  • In others:

      Responding to others in ways which suitably influence their emotions

2 Regulating emotions
  • In self:

      Reducing or re-directing negative emotions

  • In others:

      Responding to others in ways which suitably influence their emotions
3 Utilizing emotions
  • In self:

      Marshalling emotions to help accomplish a goal

  • In others:

      Motivating others, and helping them marshall their own emotions
